AFTERCARE
To keep your skin feeling smooth and healthy after your wax, it’s important to follow the aftercare recommendations below.
It’s completely normal to experience some mild redness, sensitivity, or small bumps, especially if you’re new to waxing or have been shaving previously. These effects usually settle within 24 to 48 hours. If you have any ongoing discomfort or concerns, please feel free to get in touch, we’re happy to help.
For the next couple of days, be gentle with your skin and avoid anything that could cause irritation or excessive heat.
Do ✅
- Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent irritation.
- Apply an antiseptic cream for the first few days to protect and soothe the skin (always wash your hands before applying).
- Keep your skin hydrated by moisturising daily—this helps new hairs grow properly and reduces the risk of discomfort during future waxes.
- A few days after your treatment, gently exfoliate the area once or twice a week using a dry brush or exfoliating mitt. Do this before your shower or bath while your skin is dry, then follow up with a light moisturiser such as baby oil or E45 lotion. Avoid over-exfoliating, as this can lead to irritation and ingrown hairs.
Don’t 🚫
- Hot baths or showers (stick to lukewarm water instead).
- Saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or massages.
- Sunbathing, sunbeds, or applying fake tan.
- Heavy exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating.
- Touching the area with unwashed hands or scratching.
- Swimming in chlorinated pools.
- Using deodorants, perfumed sprays, powders, or lotions unless recommended by your therapist.
You might notice a little regrowth after about a week, that’s completely normal. It often takes up to four waxing sessions for your hair to synchronise into a smoother regrowth cycle. To get the best results, let your hair grow for at least three to four weeks before your next wax, and try to avoid shaving in between appointments.
For long-lasting smoothness, we recommend maintaining a regular waxing routine every four to six weeks.
